The Talking Doll
In a small village, there lived a girl named Rina. She was a cheerful child, but often felt lonely as there weren’t many friends her age. One day, while wandering through the market, she stumbled upon an old doll in an antique shop. The doll was unique, with large eyes and an oddly wide smile. Without hesitation, Rina bought it.
As Rina brought the doll home, she felt as though there was something special about it. That night, while playing in her room, she heard a soft voice. “Rina…” it called. Startled, Rina looked at the doll, which seemed to move slightly. “Who’s talking?” she asked, her voice trembling.
“I am your doll now,” the doll replied. Rina could hardly believe her ears. The doll began to tell stories about life in the doll world and how it longed for a friend. Rina was delighted, and they started talking every night.
However, as time went on, Rina began to sense something strange. Each night, the doll seemed to come more alive. Its voice became clearer and sometimes sounded frightening. “Rina, I want to play,” the doll said in the middle of the night, causing Rina to wake up in fear.
One night, Rina awoke to find the doll at the edge of her bed, its eyes shining strangely. “Let’s go outside, Rina,” it urged in a chilling tone. Rina felt a shiver run down her spine. “No, I want to sleep,” she replied hesitantly.
The doll didn’t like her answer. “But we can have so much fun together. I know many things we can do,” it said, now sounding more threatening. Rina felt trapped between fear and curiosity.
Finally, Rina gathered her courage. “What do you want from me?” she asked, her voice shaking. The doll paused for a moment before answering, “I want you to be my friend forever. Come on, don’t be afraid. Together we can explore this world.”
Rina felt a cold chill creeping over her. She knew that the doll was not an ordinary toy. In a panic, Rina ran out of her room and tossed the doll into the backyard. She tried to forget everything.
But the following night, while Rina was asleep, she awoke to whispers coming from outside her window. “Rina…” the voice called again, now sounding closer. Rina held her breath, trying not to panic.
When she peeked outside, she saw the doll standing there, waiting with its wide smile. “I’m not finished with you, Rina,” it said, and at that moment, Rina knew that the terror had only just begun.
From that night on, Rina lived in fear. She realized that the talking doll had become part of the darkness that would follow her forever.
