The Gate to Darkness
Chapter 1: The Dare
It all started with a stupid dare.
“Come on, don’t be a chicken,” said Andi, laughing. “It’s just an old gate.”
“It’s not just a gate,” replied Nia, hugging her jacket tighter. “People say it's cursed.”
Andi, Nia, and their friends — Jaka, Sarah, and Leo — stood in front of an old rusty gate hidden behind the trees near their school. It was connected to a long-abandoned house, surrounded by dead plants and broken statues.
Everyone in town called it The Gate to Darkness.
The story said that anyone who went past it… didn’t come back the same.
But tonight, they were here to prove it was all fake.
Or at least, that’s what they thought.
Chapter 2: The Gate Opens
The wind howled through the trees as Andi pushed the gate.
CREEEAAKKK.
It opened slowly, like something waking up after a long sleep.
“See? Nothing happened,” he said, grinning.
“Not yet,” Leo mumbled.
The group stepped inside the yard. The grass was tall and dry. The house ahead looked like it could collapse any second.
Jaka held up his phone. “Let’s take a video for proof.”
They walked toward the house. Every step felt heavier. The air was colder. Even though it was summer, Nia could see her breath.
“That’s weird…” Sarah whispered.
They reached the front door. It opened by itself.
No one said anything.
They went in.
Chapter 3: The House
Inside, the house was filled with dust and shadows. Old furniture covered with white cloths sat like ghosts in every corner.
Suddenly, Leo froze. “Guys. Look.”
On the wall, someone had written in red:
“Once you enter the gate, it never lets you go.”
“Okay, I’m done,” Nia said. “Let’s leave.”
But when they turned around — the front door was gone.
It wasn’t just closed.
It was… gone.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” Jaka shouted.
They ran to where the door should’ve been. Nothing. Just a wall.
“We didn’t imagine that, right?” Sarah asked, her voice shaking.
“No,” Andi said. “This is not normal.”
The lights in the house flickered. A low sound filled the air.
Like breathing.
Chapter 4: The First Disappearance
The group moved together, trying to find another way out.
Suddenly — BANG!
A door upstairs slammed shut.
“Let’s stick together,” Leo said.
But Andi didn’t listen. He ran upstairs.
“Andi! Wait!” Nia shouted.
They followed, but when they got to the top floor… Andi was gone.
“ANDI!” they screamed.
Only silence.
They searched every room, but there was no sign of him. It was like he vanished into the air.
Then, Jaka’s phone vibrated.
1 new video.
It was from Andi.
They opened it.
The screen showed Andi, holding his phone, shaking. “Guys… something’s here with me. Don’t trust the shadows. They move. They—”
The video cut off.
Then, the phone screen turned black.
Chapter 5: Shadows
Panic set in.
“We need to get out of here,” Leo said.
“But how? The door’s gone!” Nia replied.
“We find a window, anything!”
They went downstairs. Every step echoed like thunder.
Then they saw it.
A shadow — tall, with long arms — standing at the end of the hallway.
It didn’t move. It didn’t speak.
But they could feel it watching them.
Suddenly, the lights went out.
Darkness swallowed them.
Someone screamed.
When the lights flickered back on, Jaka was gone.
“NO!” Sarah cried.
Chapter 6: The Truth
Only three of them were left now — Sarah, Leo, and Nia.
They locked themselves in a room.
“What do we do?!” Sarah sobbed.
Nia tried to think. “There has to be a reason this is happening.”
Leo looked around. On the wall, he saw an old painting — a family, standing in front of the same gate.
The father’s eyes were scratched out.
Below it, a small note:
“The gate must be fed.”
“What does that mean?” Sarah asked.
Nia’s eyes widened. “It wants… people.”
“The more who enter, the more it takes,” Leo said.
“And it never gives them back.”
Chapter 7: A Deal with Darkness
Suddenly, a voice spoke from the shadows.
“You can leave… but only one.”
They turned. A black figure stood in the doorway, featureless, except for glowing red eyes.
“One of you walks out. The others stay.”
It disappeared.
The room went silent.
“No. We’re not doing this,” Nia said. “We leave together.”
But the floor started cracking beneath them.
Sarah screamed. “IT’S TAKING ME!”
Nia and Leo grabbed her, but it was no use. The floor pulled her down into blackness.
Gone.
Chapter 8: Final Choice
Only Nia and Leo remained.
The shadow returned.
“Choose.”
Leo looked at Nia. “I’m not letting you stay.”
“Neither am I.”
“We can trick it,” Leo said. “You run for the gate. I’ll distract it.”
“No, we do it together.”
But as they stepped out of the room, darkness surrounded them. The gate appeared in front of them, glowing.
They ran.
Hands reached out from the walls. Whispers filled their ears. The house shook.
Leo pushed Nia toward the gate.
“GO!”
“No! LEO!”
She tried to grab him, but something pulled him back.
She stumbled through the gate.
Light.
Air.
Freedom.
She was outside.
Alone.
Chapter 9: The Survivor
Nia stood in front of the gate.
Behind her, the house and garden were gone.
Just trees.
She ran to town, told everyone what happened.
But no one believed her.
“No such house exists there,” they said.
She showed them the video.
It was just static.
Everyone thought she was crazy.
But she remembered everything.
And every night… she heard the voice in her dreams.
“You left them behind.”
Chapter 10: The Gate Waits
Now, the gate appears only to those who are lost.
Lonely.
Angry.
It calls them.
It wants more.
And if you ever find it…
Don’t open it.
Because once you do…
It never lets you go.
